Cool Broads like to look their best. They try to eat healthy (though it’s difficult when 4 co-workers celebrate their birthdays in the same week) and they make sure to exercise (when they’re not running up and down the stairs putting laundry away). But if they’re anything like me, every now and then they need a little refresher course, a kick in the pants, and maybe a list of 18 foods that when eaten, will not only keep us healthy, but also make us look great.
Manhattan dermatologist Amy Wechsler, MD has developed a list of the best foods for your skin in her article, “18 foods that make your skin glow.” The foods on her list are packed with nutrients such as anti-oxidants and vitamins that research has shown to have skin-hydrating, sun-protecting, and even wrinkle-preventing powers. Click here to read the full article, then print it, fold it up and put it in your purse so whenever you’re having a brain freeze (or in my case an anxiety attack) at the supermarket, you can just pull it out and start shopping.
Another nifty website I like to use is NutritionData.com. It’s an interactive site that provides accurate and comprehensive nutrition analysis on just about any food that you can think of and it presents its findings in a way that makes the information relevant to the reader.
For instance, the website maps the food by its nutritional data factor as well as its fullness factor on a nutritional target grid. This allows you to see how that particular food lines up with your weight management goals. If you’re trying to eat healthy yet limit your caloric intake, eat foods in the top right hand corner of the grid because they will fill you up with fewer calories and are the most nutrient dense.
Packed with information about healthy eating, weight management, recent nutritional advances and delicious recipes, NutritionData.com is a great reference and definitely worthy of a bookmark. Because we are what we eat, and our bodies are our temples, and healthy people are more attractive than unhealthy people…and all that stuff.
So eat well, be healthy, and look fabulous! And please pardon the fact that I just said fabulous.

Formal exercise is overrated! One day of housework (how much can you clean? Two rooms?) will provide more than the required 10,000 steps that everyone touts as the remedy for weight problems. I have washed waxed and eaten my veggies and I am still fat!
