I came downstairs this morning to make the boys breakfast before hauling them off to the gym so I could kill myself take a step aerobic class with one of my favorite instructors, Kacy (yes, she’s as cute as she sounds).
So I tossed a couple of leftover waffles from last weekend into the toaster (they’re still good after a week, right?), poured two glasses of juice, and reached for some fruit in the fruit bowl. But when I looked in the fruit bowl, I didn’t see anything that resembled fruit. What I saw were three, shriveled-up, brown, balls of something where the peaches used to be. As you can guess, those balls of something WERE the peaches and I’m always amazed how those things can go from “okay” to almost unrecognizable in just eight hours. Luckily, after peeling and cutting them up, I was able to pass them off as edible.
And as I was serving up shriveled peaches to my kids, I remembered this song from the Juno soundtrack (which is amazing). I’d never heard of The Moldy Peaches before seeing the movie but I’m convinced they’ve written one of the best song lyrics ever…”We sure are cute for two ugly people.”
Love. it.
