I’m all by myself this week. The boys are with their grandparents and the husband is traveling for work…so I’m stuck here in this house with nobody but this old broad.

I’d call her a Cool Broad but she’s got a bad habit of bolting when she’s lucky enough to find the front door open, and then I’m stuck running around the neighborhood chasing a tiny, black, rodent-like dog whom I cannot catch as the neighbors watch and shake their heads. So until she figures out that when she makes me look like a fool, she ain’t cool, she’s just an old broad.
Anyway, I thought that I’d be able to revel in my freedom this week but instead I woke up this morning feeling lonely and lost. So I’m off to the gym and then maybe CVS to buy some bug spray to get purple fingernail polish out of a pair of my best white pants because that’s what everyone in the world says to do when you type “how do I get fingernail polish out of clothing” into your internet search engine.
See, already I’m rambling…

It’s funny how we long for a little peace and quiet but when everyone leaves, the house is just empty.

Oh! So adorable? Is she a Boston or more of an English Bulldog/ Bull Terrier? I have a Boston and he’s so full of energy, still, and we got him almost five years ago.

Ha Ha! Sometimes it is more like…she’s so adorable? Supposedly she’s a Boston Terrier (or at least that’s what the breeders told us), but she’s got the body of a Chihuahua (she’s only 11 lbs at 2yrs.) She’s a pretty good girl (aside from the running away thing) but can outfart even my husband! What’s up with that???

Love your blog. I daydream all the time about my family going away. (Temporarily of course!) But when it comes down to it I know I’d miss them terribly if they were all gone at the same time for more than a day or two. (And I probably still wouldn’t get the office cleaned out!)

Oh poor you all by yourself - I’m sure by the time you get used to it they’ll be home.
I love pottering around antique shops and art galleries when Husbando’s away. For some reason I always feel so wistful! Hang in there!

I want to say, “Girl! Snap out of it! Enjoy your alone time! ” But unfortunately, I know what you’re going through. It’s like you don’t know what to do with your time when they’re not around. The house you complained has no room now feels too big. And did you hear that noise?
Might I add that your old broad is SO CUTE! She reminds me of my old broad.
Try to enjoy your time alone!
