At a recent party, my husband introduced me to man that he works with as well as the man’s wife. The fellow (who happens to be more senior than my husband) was incredibly personable and friendly. His wife, however, was a complete dud.
And though it turned out that we actually had a lot in common with the couple, the woman just didn’t seem that interested in talking to us. She’d answer the questions she was asked, but didn’t offer anything to the conversation and wore an expression on her face as if she’d just smelled poo.
I didn’t really take it personally, however, and instead assumed that she was either boring or someone scratched her Lexus she was having a bad day.
Well, I was wrong on both counts. When another couple walked into the room, she lit up like a Christmas tree, bounded over, planted a kiss on the man’s cheek, and began carrying on a conversation with more animation than SpongeBob.
And to add insult to injury, it turns out that the guy she was so excited to see was also a business colleague of my husband’s, only he was the boss. So it turns out that she’s not a dud at all, we just weren’t worth her time.
snob (snob)
n. a snob is someone tends to patronize, rebuff, or ignore people regarded as social inferiors and imitate, admire, or seek association with people regarded as social superiors.
Obviously, that woman didn’t carry herself as a Cool Broad would. First of all…Cool Broads aren’t snobs.
Secondly, there are more graceful ways to handle yourself if the situation arises where you’d really like to greet, or talk to, someone else. But there’s no excuse for showing your ass. I don’t care if Jesus Christ himself walks into the room, you give the person you’re talking to the courtesy of your attention until an opportunity arises to excuse yourself.
That’s just good manners…and you never know when the poor schmuck you’re talking to just might rise to the occasion and become the next big thing. And then the question becomes…will he (or she) take the time to talk to you.

Those are the type of people that I would love to have a chance to burn. Like the car salesman that refuses to give you the time of day because you are wearing blue jeans and flip flops so you obviously can’t afford a new car - show up later that afternoon with a newly purchased vehicle just to show him what he missed and show his boss what he missed and watch him sqirm!! Does that totally knock me out of ‘Cool Broad’ness??

@lori
I’m totally into revenge…in a passive-agressive sort of way, and I’m not sure if that’s Cool Broad or not. But it’s definitely something I struggle with, along with holding a grudge. I’m the most loyal person you’ll ever meet, but the flip side to that is that I hold a mean grudge.

We’ll have to delve into that deeper…

OMG - I do the grudge thing too. Man, I will stick by your side through a lot, but do me wrong and I cannot forget!

I hate women like that! Just wait til her husband wants something from yours and she’ll be kissing your ass. Nope, she couldn’t even begin to aspire to be a cool broad.
