Does anybody remember that Seinfeld episode where Elaine hoards her soon-to-be-discontinued Today sponges, and makes the decision to break out her precious contraceptive only if her suitor is “sponge-worthy”?
Well, this post isn’t about safe sex or a stolen marble rye, but I did find two articles that I deemed “link-worthy”, and since it’s the first day of school here and I’m a bit scattered, I thought it would be a good time for me to share them with you.
So, in lieu of a well-thought out, philosophical post (or at least one that tries to be)…I’m going to turn you onto two useful and thought-provoking articles that I found online.
The first: The Right Thing to Wear
If you’ve ever been stumped by the appropriate dress for an occasion, here’s help: a guide to the modern do’s and don’ts of proper attire.
This article is one that I’ll keep close at hand for those times when I’m not exactly sure what “festive attire” means. It also includes dress suggestions for the following occasions:
1. Weddings
2. Cocktail parties
3. Dinner parties
4. Business dinners or company parties
5. Job interviews
6. Religious ceremonies (i.e. bar mitzvahs, baptisms)
7. Funerals or wakes
8. A night at the theatre, ballet or opera
9. When you want to make a good first impression (i.e. first date, meeting the in-laws, school functions)
10. And finally, when an invitation calls for “festive attire”
The second: Are Only Liberal Women Worthy of a Celebration?
I found this post at shoutdaily worthy of a “shout out” as the author, Tricia, makes a compelling point.
The Presidential campaign season is officially upon us and no matter your political affiliation or views, let’s resolve to give the women involved (whether they be candidates or wives of candidates) the support they deserve (and will need).
It ain’t easy putting yourself out there for all the world to see (and to criticize) and though we don’t have to vote for them, I believe that we DO need to treat them with compassion and respect…because, let’s face it, that’s how Cool Broads roll.
Have a great week!

Thank so much for the shout out and for seconding the idea that Cool Broads roll on the compassionate side, regardless of the political side.
I’m also goign to check out the link for what to wear…it makes life so much easier when I don’t wear the Bat mitzvah outfit to the festive occasion…not kidding here.
