Yesterday, I read a great article by Leo over at Zen Habits called “Success Isn’t a Competition: Boosting Others Helps You in the Long Run.”
Though the article is tailored a bit toward bloggers, the basic premise can be applied to anybody and is definitely part of the Cool Broad philosophy.

One of the most-favored people in our IT department is also one of the lesser technical - and also the most low-profile - among our staff. But the fact that she’ll all but crawl through broken glass to help everyone else out has made her more of an invaluable asset than the most technically-capable of us. She makes all of the rest of our jobs much easier and makes us look better. Judy is our office superhero - and she’s definitely a cool broad!
